• Blue Fade Theme Discussion

This theme discussion post was created to allow those who have downloaded the “Blue Fade” WordPress theme the opportunity to post their comments and/or questions on how the theme is working for them. It is also meant to encourage those who have not downloaded the theme or are considering it to do so.

Blue Fade, now with threaded comments, was designed for a clean and easy to read layout while maintaining a sharp looking design. Like the “Son of Blue” theme… it includes a PNG file so you can add your own custom logo in the header to match the screen shot.

Blue Fade was the very first theme I ever created and although is not the most popular of the themes I have designed, it still one of my favorites.

Is there a way to eliminate comments altogether from this theme? Thanks!

      • Hi Frank,

Yes… there is but it would have to be done by editing the code. There is nothing within the WordPress admin panel that would allow that.

If you send me an email via the contact page. I can work with you on that.

        Thanks

Thanks for this great theme! I’ve tried 20 different themes and this was the only one that was completely compatible with the plugin I need to use. When I get some more gumption I’ll try some of your other themes to see if they all work.

What is the purpose of the ‘screenshot.png’ file?

      David

      • Hi David,

I’m glad you like the theme and thank you for your nice comments.

The screenshot.png is really only used to show a s screenshot in your WordPress admin panel for the theme.

If you log into your admin panel, go to Appearance > Themes and you will see what I am talking about.

        Thanks

    3. I really love the theme – great job! One question though: Is there a way to increase the length of the excerpt shown on the index page (or show entire posts altogether)?

      • Hello MJ,

Thank you for downloading the theme and for your nice comments.

You can edit the theme code to show the entire post but I personally do not know a way to control the lenght. However, there probably is a plugin that will allow you to that.

You can control the lenght of the excerpt for the RSS feed but that is not what you are looking for… at least in this case.

To show the full post instead of the excerpt, you can edit the INDEX.PHP and ARCHIVE.PHP and replace “…the excerpt” with “…the content”.

If you don’t feel comfortable doing that, I will be glad to when Christmas is over and I get back home.

        Thanks

This theme is very beauty and I like it very much. Logo I’d like to replace my own pictures, but I will not modify, you help me change about it? Thank you

I will contact you via the email address you used in your comment with more detail information about how the image can be changed.

        Thank you.

      G’day,
I”m really impressed with the Blue Fade theme. It’s so nice not to be restricted to a titchy little text width!

I’d also like to change the logo. I’ve checked out the original, but it’s not layered or anything. Is it possible to get the background for the logo, and I’ll add my own text/shadows/etc?
      Thanks in advance!

    6. Hi PCPete,

Thank you so much for your nice comments. It is a good way to start my day.

There is a layered PNG file in the Fireworks folder but from checking out your site, you must have figured that out or just created the new image.

The new logo image you created looks great by the way and thanks again for using the theme.

Thanks for explaining about the PNG. Unfortunately, I’m stuck for the moment with Photoshop CS8, which is unable to deal with layered PNG images. That’s my fault, not yours!
I did do a simple ‘wipe’ and added my own text late last night, so I really appreciate your feedback!
      Cheers!

      • No worries, I’m glad you were able to work it out.

Thanks again for using the theme and your comments.
