This theme discussion post was created to allow those who have downloaded the “Writer’s Quill” WordPress theme the opportunity to post their comments and/or questions on how the theme is working for them. It is also meant to encourage those who have not downloaded the theme or are considering it to do so.
Writer’s Quill is an unique WordPress theme design ideal for a personal blog but can certainly be used for any purpose. It is designed with a custom header and 3 columns for greater accessibility.
It is certainly one of the most popular themes I have designed and I thoroughly enjoyed creating it.

Hello,
I’ve been working with Writer’s Quill,(as an initial setup for my blog. I tried to make adjustments on the Blog NAME (Header?)e.i. “The Journey to America” however. I am un able to find the code to adjust size or color. I tried through my WordPress dashboard and also @my goDaddy.com where I am hosting. Can you advise? I am desparate in getting the page looking right before I spend time populating it with other items.
Please help.
Thnx

Hi Joe,
Thanks for using the theme.
I will type up a brief document and send it to your email to help you with that. It will be an easy thing to do.
Be looking for the email soon.
Thank you.
I have been using Writers Quill since Jan 2009. I have version 1.2. Can you advise what I need to do to upgrade to 2.5? I have some widgets and made some changes to the pages and categories for display. Will 2.5 clobber that stuff? Sorry I have been slow on the uptake of your revised version.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you in advance! Love the theme by the way!
Hi Dan,
First off… thank you for using the theme and your nice comments. I am really glad you are enjoying the theme.
You should be just fine upgrading. However, I will make a couple of suggestions. These suggestions are always a good idea as a general rule before upgrading anything when it comes to WordPress.
Make a backup of your database as well as your current Writer’s Quill version.
Realize that custom changes, if any, that you made to your current version of Writer’s Quill will be overwritten. If you made custom changes to any of the theme files, you will want to make them again after upgrading.
The final thing, I believe version 1.2 may have had a different folder name for the theme. Check that. If so, just copy the new version up like a new theme and you will be good to go.
Thanks Dan and have a great day!
